Schools Add Security Vestibules
Customer Type: K-12 School
A school district had multiple school buildings where anyone entering the exterior door had free egress to the entire building.
DH Pace offered a solution to increase security without changing the exterior of the buildings. The design and install teams constructed security vestibules (man traps) within the front entryways of the schools. Pass-through windows and speakers were installed between the vestibule and the office staff. The new interior set of doors is kept locked at all times so anyone entering has to stop at the window and get permission to enter. Upon doing so, staff can press a button to unlock the door and allow entry. Students can show ID to be let in. The result is a more safe and secure environment for students, staff and guests.
